Jungle Awakening — Dharma Vida
Seven days in the land of eternal waters, where the jungle quiets the mind
Seven days in the land of eternal waters, where the jungle quiets the mind
A transformational week at Dharma Vida, a regenerative sanctuary tucked between Costa Rica's Pacific coast and Chirripó National Park. Fifteen acres of protected jungle, organic orchards, hidden waterfalls, and the kind of silence that rewires the nervous system.
Dharma Vida sits in the Chirripó Valley, surrounded by mountain forests and free-flowing rivers. Not a resort. A living piece of land cared for with intention: organic gardens, a teak yoga shala, a meditation temple, a zen pond, and cloud forest trails to hidden waterfalls.
For seven days, this land is yours. Birdsong mornings, jungle walks, food straight from the garden, evenings around the fire circle. Ten to twelve souls, no more. The schedule is gentle. The land does most of the work.
Dharma Vida means « purposeful living. » That is what this week is about.
Slow mornings, open afternoons, soft evenings.
The rhythm is gentle on purpose. Nothing is mandatory. The day flows around you, not the other way around.
You can do every session, or spend a whole afternoon in the hammock. Both are right.
Day by day
Every day has its own texture — arrival, depth, silence, expansion, integration. Here's what unfolds.
Day 1 — Arrival and welcome
Arrive at Dharma Vida in the afternoon. Settle into your cabin, explore the property, find the zen pond. Join us at the outdoor fire circle for a welcome ceremony as the sun sets behind the Coastal Ridge. Light dinner and early rest.
Day 2 — Grounding
First full day. Morning yoga in the teak shala overlooking the valley, a guided walk through the organic gardens and coffee plantation, and an afternoon dip in the natural river pool. Evening intention-setting circle at the meditation temple.
Day 3 — Into the jungle
Deeper morning breathwork session. Guided jungle trail hike to a hidden waterfall. Swimming in cold mountain water. Afternoon rest in your cabin or at the zen pond. Cacao ceremony in the communal rancho in the evening.
Day 4 — From farm to table
Morning yoga and meditation. Cooking class: harvest directly from the organic beds, learn to prepare traditional Costa Rican dishes with what the land gives. Long communal lunch under the rancho. Gentle afternoon yin practice on the shala deck.
Day 5 — Silence
A quieter day. Extended morning meditation at the zen pond. Walking meditation through the cloud forest trails. Silent meals in the dining hall. Sound healing session in the meditation temple in the evening. Let the jungle hold you.
Day 6 — Integration
Sharing circle in the morning. Free afternoon to revisit your favorite spot on the property or book an optional healing treatment (cranial-sacral, deep tissue, reflexology). Sunset yoga on the shala deck. Final dinner together by candlelight with wood-fired pizza from the outdoor oven.
Day 7 — Closing and departure
Closing ritual and gratitude circle at the fire pit. Final breakfast from the garden. Transfers back to San José airport.

This retreat is for you if...
This retreat is for you if you need more than a holiday. If the daily grind has left you disconnected from your body, your breath, and the natural world around you.
If you want to wake up without an alarm, eat food that was in the ground that morning, swim in rivers instead of pools, and spend a week remembering what it feels like to be fully alive.
No yoga experience needed. No spiritual prerequisites. Just a willingness to slow down and let the jungle do its work. All levels are welcome and all practices are adapted to meet you where you are.
